The Nottingham Panthers have signed forward Matthew Lane for 2021/22.

The 27-year-old heads to the Elite League after totalling 20 goals and 23 assists in the ECHL last season, and a 60-point haul in the Alps League the year before. He was also part of the USA team that won gold at the 2012 U18 World Junior Championships and was voted as one of the top three players on that roster.

"Matt is the kind of centre that fans will be excited to watch play. He's played in some good leagues, has the experience, and those kinds of centres are the kind that we want to build around. He'll be a big piece of our puzzle," said Director of Hockey Gui Doucet.

"It's been a summer where a lot of players are looking at the market and seeing what they can find, but Matt was very keen on coming to Europe and had heard good things about Nottingham.

"Tim and I have watched a lot of tape of Matt, and we think with his speed and skill he'll fit well into our system."
