The IIHF rule amendments bring several rules more in line with those already in use in the NHL. The EIHL and Champions Hockey League Casebooks were already using several of these interpretations.
Summary of IIHF Changes and impact on EIHL Rules
The Elite Ice Hockey League has, for the past two seasons, already used the new IIHF interpretation concerning goals scored off the skate. The IIHF update therefore does not affect current playing rules.
The Elite Ice Hockey League is already using the NHL Netminder Interference standard, which the IIHF have adopted. Again, there is no change for IIHF playing rules.
The one noticeable change will be the rule adjustment concerning broken and dropped sticks. The Elite League's Casebook has been updated to reflect the IIHF rule change, which is also explained in the video above.
