Challenge Cup Group A was kept very interesting thanks to Fife Flyers' home win over a Belfast Giants side that has still yet to win away this season.

A Jonas Emmerdahl wrist-shot put the hosts ahead 6:33 into the game, which came almost 24 hours after the Flyers lost 7-2 in Belfast. A Matt Pelech solo effort levelled things up at 12:41, with Jean Dupuy then finding a way past Adam Morrison with 1:17 left in the first period.

The loan goal of period two came from Kyle Just as the Flyers draw level just past the 33-minute mark, but more drama was to come in the third. Dylan Quaile arrive late to finish off from a Danick Gauthier pass for 3-2 at 44:54, and with time ticking down the puck fell kindly to Tim Crowder for Tim Crowder to score form lose range with 3:17 left. Crowder then found the empty net to five the Flyers a 5-2 win.
