A thoroughly entertaining game brought Week 2 of the 2021 Elite Series to a close with a win for the Sheffield Steelers over the Manchester Storm, who were tied at the top going into this fixture.

In a feisty game, Rob Dowd gave the Steelers the lead after just 35 seconds, only for Scott Simmonds to tie things up just over three minutes later. Jérémy Beaudry found the net on the powerplay at 6:34 and 16:56 to give the Steelers a 3-1 advantage, but the Storm were back in things towards the end of the period through Jacob Lundell Noer at 18:11.

Dallas Erhardt's shot from a tight angle found its way through to tie things up at 26:42, but the Steelers ere back in front some six minutes later through Dod again.

Craig Peacock levelled the scores 63 seconds into period three as the Storm skated with a man advantage following Davey Phillips' ejection for a Check from Behind at the back end of the second, but on the same penalty Jason Hewitt scored shorthanded to put the Steelers back into the lead. Adrian Saxrud Danielsen then grabbed himself a goal from a bad angle to put the Steelers two up with less than nine minutes remaining.

The win puts the Steelers into first outright.
