It'll be a bit different in the Elite Series

Hygiene products have been supplied by Dew Products of Dundee

With a full COVID-19 protocol in place for the duration of the 2021 Elite Series, some of the regular game day things that you've become accustomed to might be a bit different this time around.

Here are some of the changes we've had to make:

No goal judges
In order to reduce the number of people in the building, and especially those with access to ice level, there won't be any goal judges for this series. Referees will have the full video review software to check goals if they wish to, or a coach wants to challenge the on-ice call.

Penalties longer than two minutes
If a player receives a penalty that is longer than two minutes, he will need to put a mask on in the penalty box as he and the box attendant will be in close proximity for a longer period of time.

If a player receives a major penalty, or a misconduct, which is greater than the amount of time left in the period, they will go immediately to the locker room to begin serving it. Should that penalty carry over to the next period, they will start that period in the penalty box, and wear a mask if they'll be there for more than two minutes.

Bench staff
Aside from coaches, all bench staff need to wear masks. This also includes backup goalies.
