Whilst the Sheffield Steelers took the two points against the Nottingham Panthers on the ice with a 4-3 overtime victory on Sunday, it was one of the Nottingham Panthers supporters who went home with the biggest smile.
Panthers fan Heather Vernon collected an incredible £2,044 by winning the Fitness Unlimited 50-50 draw.
Her winnings were presented by Heather's favourite player, Panthers goalie Craig Kowalski
Steelers commercial manager, Mike O'Connor, said: "Well Heather didn't get the result she wanted on the ice but certainly went home smiling.
"Our 50-50 draw just gets bigger and bigger and this is the first time it has been won by an opposition fan. I think the word has caught on to all supporters that when in Sheffield buy a tickets because its serious money we are giving away."
