Fife Flyers are pleased to confirm the addition of 24 year old American centre Joshua 'Podge' Turnbull for the remainder of the 2012/13 Rapid Solicitors Elite Ice Hockey League season.

Turnbull, who iced for South Carolina Stingrays in the 2011/12 with former Flyers forward Mike Hamilton, joins after leaving Missouri Mavericks of the CHL.

Assistant coach Danny Stewart was pleased to bring in Turnbull. "Podge comes from a very prestigious college program at the University of Wisconsin where he finished his last season with 13 goals in 38 games.

"He is a natural centre which is an area we needed more depth in. He adds many different elements to our squad and with the added strength in the face off circle he gives us another right handed shot and will add to our 2nd PP unit giving us more skill on that unit.

"It will also allow other guys to play more natural positions and just gives us a lot more versatility within our line up and more secondary scoring! Podge is a very skilled player that is hungry for a chance to produce. We will have him in the line up this weekend and he will slot in on the 2nd line playing centre."

Turnbull will make his Flyers debut this weekend with Flyers away double header against Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Panthers.

Fife Flyers return to home ice action on Saturday 23rd (face-off 7:15pm) and Sunday 24th (face-off 6:30pm) when they take on Hull Stingrays and Coventry Blaze respectively. Tickets are available from or from Fife Ice Arena on 01592595100
