THE DEVILS ARE PUMPED UP FOR THEIR FIRST TRIP TO NOTTINGHAM

September 8, 2010

The Cardiff Devils travel to the TrentFM Arena this Saturday for the second home game of the new Elite League season and they may have to do it without their talisman tough guy Brad Voth. He's in a race against time to be fit for the trip.

But the Devils have more toughness waiting in the wings in the shape six feet six inch 240lbs Juston Sawyer who had 288 penalty minutes in the IHL last year and in the previous two years in the CHL he racked up 205 PiMs two years ago and 303 in the year before that.

Both teams have great skills too. Cardiff are still looking for their first win of the year but they pushed Belfast, visitors to Nottingham last Saturday for the pulsating penalty-shoot out game, all the way on Sunday and only lost by the odd goal in seven.

Devils player-coach Gerad Adams, who you expect to see in the line-up until around Christmas time, is full of hoped for Saturday's big game. He told us today : "It's a great place to visit, everyone's looking forward to it. I watched Nottingham on the box and it looks to be one of their better teams in recent years, we're looking forward to seeing the likes of Dustin Sproat and of course, Alex Penner. It's going to be a good game and I think we can promise the fans another top drawer game, just like last weekend in Nottingham."

Saturday's game is sponsored by CSI Ltd.
