Rod Sarich

It will be an emotional return for Rod Sarich when the 2014 season commences.

Having played exactly 400 games over 8 seasons for the Steelers Sarich’s services weren’t retained by former coach Doug Christiansen in the summer of 2013.

New head coach Gerad Adams made Sarich his first summer signing in 2014 bolstering the clubs blue line.

An offensive blueliner and key on the power-play Sarich is also a former GB international after receiving his British passport in 2013.

Sarich played his junior hockey in Calgary for the Hitmen between 1996 and 2002. Turning professional in 2002 Sarich spent two seasons with Louisiana IceGators and a further season in Augusta before signing for the Steelers in 2005.

In his 400 games for the one club, Sarich amassed an incredible 69 goals and 297 points for the Steelers.
