Fife Flyers netminder Bryan Pitton has won the Rapid Solicitors Elite League Player of the Month for September 2012.

Pitton helped the Flyers to five wins in the month of September – a run of form which helped Fife go top of Challenge Cup Group A.
The 24-year-old Canadian has conceded less than two goals per game (1.98) and has an impressive save percentage of 91.5%.
Pitton, who was a fifth-round NHL draft pick for Edmonton Oilers in 2006, said: “I am very honored to receive the first player of the month award.
“This past month has been a great start for myself and the team. I am pleased that both the hard work of the team and myself has been recognised. They deserve this award just as much as I do.
“My time spent here in Scotland has been great and I'd like to thank the Fife Flyers organisation, fans and team-mates for making this new experience very enjoyable.”
The Rapid Solicitors Player of the Month award will be presented throughout the 2012-13 Elite League season.
Pitton will be presented with his award when Fife host Sheffield Steelers on Saturday 13th October 2012 (7:15pm).
