DISCIPLINE UPDATE

December 26, 2012

The Elite League disciplinary committee have made the following decisions following two recent requests for supplementary discipline.

Fife Flyers forward Jason Pitton has been assessed a match penalty for excessive roughness (sucker punch) for an incident which occurred at the end of the first period during his side's match at Dundee Stars on Sunday 23rd December 2012.

Pitton will be banned for three matches, which is the minimum tariff for this offence.

In addition, the committee has removed the 5+game boarding penalty from the record of Dundee defenceman Doug Krantz.

Meanwhile, Coventry Blaze requested supplementary discipline for an incident during their match at Belfast Giants on Friday 21st December 2012.

Belfast forward Kevin Saurette was assessed a five+game misconduct for clipping in the third period (46:57).

The committee have decided this was the correct call and no further action will be taken.
