A first trophy in their inaugural Elite League campaign for Bruce Richardson's Braehead Clan as they gave their band of noisy travelling supporters a night to remember by beating the host club Nottingham Panthers in the final of the Aladdin 20-20 Cup.
It was a quick double strike that proved decisive for Clan as at 2.51 Adam Walker fired them ahead from a Matt Haywood assist and then only 32 seconds later Ryan Campbell scored his third goal of the event with help from Jon Landry.
Try as they might, Panthers could find no way past a determined Clan defence and goaltender J F Perras and the icing on the Clan cake was added by skipper Brendan Cook at 14.01 as he struck his third goal of the night from a Landry feed to ensure that the Aladdin 20-20 Cup would be hosted in the Braehead Clan trophy cabinet in the very near future.
